Diwali (दीवाली) is a 5 Day fest4ival. In festival people illuminate there home, office, temple with Diyas and candles. People decorate there homes with colorful lights and hand Lanten (Aakash kandil) in front of home or balcony. In diwali people decorate there door front floors with colorful Rangoli. People  worship Laxmi maa on good panchang timing. After laxmi maa Pooja people bust Firecracker. People shares mithai or (Faral) with neighbour and relatives. 


Deepavali is the day shree Ram, Sita ma, shree Laxman and Bajranbali Hanuman reaches Ayodhya after a period of 14 years of Vanvaas. Shree Ram's army of good  defeats Demon king Ravan army over Evil. 


In Jain tradition, Diwali celebrated as 'Mahavirra Nirvana divas'. The final Nirvana of Mahavira. Jain people celebrates diwali as Hindu people. Lighting lamp first begun on the day of mahavira's Nirvana in 527 BCE. 


Sikh people celebrate Bandi chhor diwas. On this day Guru Hargobind arrived in golden temple. He released from prison by Mughal Emperor on this day. Sikh also celebrate diwali as Hindu people. 


Diwali is not celebrated by most Buddhist except newer Nepali Buddhist. They also celebrate 5 day diwali. They also worship Maa Laxmi on Diwali.
